ANOINTING OF THE SICK:

This sacrament is for those Christians whose health is seriously impaired by sickness or advanced age. Through this sacrament the Church supports the sick in their struggle against illness and continues Christ's work of healing. All who are united in the bond of a common baptism and a common faith are joined together in the body of Christ since what happens to one member affects all. Holy Cross celebrates a communal anointing of the sick in October each year. For particular needs, and in emergencies, the sacrament is celebrated by request by contacting the rectory or one of the priests.
