Preparation for Confirmation and First Communion

Our parish is one of the parishes in the Diocese of Cleveland that has Re-ordered the Sacraments of Initiation to the original "Order" of Baptism, then Confirmation, and First Eucharist.  Since Spring, 2003, children in second grade are celebrating Confirmation and First Communion at the same time. Preparation involves the child, the family, godparents, extended family and the entire parish community.

Children of Light are those children and families preparing for Confirmation and First Communion in second grade and their older brothers and sisters preparing for Confirmation at the same celebration.

With the example and prayerful support of our entire parish, each young person will be encouraged to make this year a very special time for them and their families. You will see them being presented with a pin with the words "SERVE WITH LOVE" on it. The young people are asked to wear this pin whenever they are doing an action of service, or sharing their time and talents with people in need or in service to our parish community. Be on the lookout for those pins! and we invite young people to share with you what they are doing, how they are putting God's love into action, and what they are learning by doing just that.
